Board approves updated conservation-easement process; public comment window extended

The Land Preservation Committee presented a revised conservation-easement process that removes discouraging donation language and updates an evaluation worksheet; the board approved the changes and extended the public-comment period from two to four weeks.

Dan Allman, chairman of the Land Preservation Committee, and Cindy Gaspari presented revisions to the township's conservation-easement process, including streamlined steps and an updated evaluation worksheet. Allman said the goal was to avoid language that might scare landowners away and to make the application process clearer: "What we did here was we're looking at any documents that are used by the LPC and evaluating conservation easements and updating them," he said.
