Janice Banks read the subcommittee assignments and emphasized that subcommittees must create measurable end goals before the full task force combines their findings into recommendations. She recited memberships for Equity and Contracting (led by Jeff Wilburn), IEDC liaison, Workforce (Ernest Strickland and James Harvey) and others.
"Each subcommittee can come up with end goals," Chair Brooks said, asking the groups to draft their expectations, findings and recommendations so the full task force can synthesize them into a single set of recommendations to the Black Caucus and the county commission. Members agreed that two representatives from each subcommittee should coordinate with Region 1 committees where helpful but should avoid duplicative attendance and should rotate representation where necessary.
Ernest Strickland committed to reaching out to former commissioner James Harvey to schedule the workforce subcommittee meeting and to develop recommendations to guide subsequent talks with hospital leadership. Janice Banks said she would email the resolution and the list of subcommittees to members so everyone has a consistent baseline for drafting deliverables.
