Commissioners approve interlocal agreement for regional cybersecurity operations

The Coryell County Commissioners Court voted to approve an interlocal cooperative agreement allowing county IT operations now managed by Goldsmith Solutions to access RSOC services at San Angelo State University.
During the Feb. 10 session the presiding judge recognized an update on the county's IT transition and Goldsmith's discovery of several outlier systems that still need vendor handoffs. Commissioner Bridal moved to enter the interlocal cooperative contract “between San Angelo State University and Coryell County relating to the use of the San Angelo State Regional Security Operations Center, RSOC Services,” and Commissioner Matthews seconded the motion. The court approved the motion by voice vote.
Court members said the arrangement will let Goldsmith coordinate on County security planning under CrowdStrike and provide a single point of contact for security operations. No dissenting votes were recorded. Officials asked staff to continue addressing outstanding access and password issues and to monitor any remaining vendor-managed systems.
