Oconto County libraries outline spring programs, tax help and technology upgrades

Directors and representatives from Oconto County libraries reported on spring programs, community services and technology updates during the Library Services Board meeting on Feb. 25, 2026.
Shannon Stoner outlined Gillett Public Library offerings including a Thursday exercise group, a frauds-and-scams presentation, a children's "slime time" event with the Children's Museum of Green Bay, and a 30th annual Easter egg hunt. Rachel Pascoe said Oconto Falls Community Library will transition to new software in summer 2026 and plans guest-reader events and sewing classes. Amy Peterson reported that Farnsworth completed Polaris training and will hold a book sale in April and an America 250 escape-room event. Stoner also presented Suring Area Library updates (director recertification, DPI report, summer entertainers and a fiber-optic bandwidth update). Jodi Marquardt said Lena Public Library completed its 2025 report and has a new interim librarian.
Several libraries noted ongoing community services: free tax forms or tax-prep assistance were available at multiple locations, school outreach and 4K open-house events were planned, and libraries are coordinating youth programming for spring and summer.
