Bear Drive bridge design work grows after historic designation; amendment adds $25,000 for documentation

Public Works Director Matt Paulison told the board that Anderson Perry's bridge-design scope for the Bear Drive replacement expanded after the structure was determined to be historic. "So they worked on the design, and then throughout the process it was determined that that bridge is historic," Paulison said, explaining that Amendment No. 1 to the work order would add roughly $25,000 for the additional deliverables. He said the county secured a local-bridge grant that should cover the extra costs; commissioners approved the amendment and authorized the chair to sign the work-order change.
