Windmill Point project wins state award; county details parks construction timelines

Katie Boyle, deputy director at the Virginia Association of Counties, presented Lancaster County with a 2026 Achievement Award for the Windmill Point Maritime Recreational Campus, praising the project's partnerships, coastal‑resilience measures, public access and recreational amenities. "It's a beautiful day to be in Lancaster County," Boyle said as she presented the plaque and described the award criteria and competitive selection (103 entries, 40 winners).
