During the legislative update, presenters raised several public-safety and corrections-related proposals. Jack Nelson summarized bills including a proposed increase in prisoner daily per diem to $80 and a bill addressing inappropriate contact between jailers and prisoners. Mike Pohanka noted an increase in unpaid citations and said licenses may be suspended until citations are paid: "there are over 23 million in unpaid citations, and that licenses will be suspended until citations are paid." He also described a bill to limit thermal imaging and drone use in finding game and referenced a prohibition that the transcript spelled as "cratum" (likely a transcript misspelling of 'kratom').
