The Lawrence County Public Defender Advisory Board voted June 3, 2026, to allow the proposed 2027 Public Defender’s Office budget to be presented to the County Commission. Director Amber Richey presented a budget that included a 3% cost-of-living increase request and a step increase for Deputy Brown.
