Environmental Services reports spike in owner-request euthanasia, seeks more veterinary capacity
Environmental Services Director Heather Wilson told the committee that owner-request euthanasias rose from 103 in FY2023 to 240 in 2024, and that the department has one veterinarian and needs additional staffing and space to meet rising demand across animal-care, TNR, community-engagement and SRO support.
