Ottawa County adopts Emergency Operations Plan approved by state
The county adopted a new Emergency Operations Plan, which the Kansas Department of Emergency Management reviewed. Commissioners said it is a living document and voted 3-0 to adopt it and forward it to the state.

Keith Coleman, Facilities Director, presented the county Emergency Operations Plan and confirmed it had been reviewed by the Kansas Department of Emergency Management. Commissioners discussed the document’s flexibility as a "living document" that the county may amend as needs change; Commissioner Duane Morris said he had confidence in the plan and commended the drafting team for its scenario planning.
