Keith Coleman, Facilities Director, presented the county Emergency Operations Plan and confirmed it had been reviewed by the Kansas Department of Emergency Management. Commissioners discussed the document’s flexibility as a "living document" that the county may amend as needs change; Commissioner Duane Morris said he had confidence in the plan and commended the drafting team for its scenario planning.
By unanimous motion the Commission adopted the Emergency Operations Plan and directed staff to transmit the adopted plan to the state. The adoption was recorded as a 3-0 vote; commissioners noted the plan will be updated periodically and that the county retains authority to modify it as circumstances warrant.
