Finance Director Steven Kaplan said the town’s infrastructure surtax (the "penny tax") is sunsetting, and the town anticipates receiving about $346,000 next year compared with the roughly $1.2 million it has collected in recent years. "Come December 2025, we will no longer be levying this tax," Kaplan said, and staff warned that the drop will limit ad‑hoc paving and capital flexibility.
