County engineer outlines bridge work, brush cutting and regrading schedule

County Engineer Ryne Thornburg reported brush cutting on Eagle Drive will start next week, the Des Moines River bridge at Bonaparte will be down to one lane during Wednesday's work and its solar lights will be removed, regrading on some roads is postponed pending Highway 16 West pavement work, and a roads crew member will attend blade training the week of Aug. 4.
County Engineer Ryne Thornburg updated the Board of Supervisors on secondary roads operations at the July 28 meeting. He said brush cutting along Eagle Drive between Selma and Acorn Avenue should begin next week, and that planned work on the Des Moines River bridge at Bonaparte will reduce traffic to one lane on Wednesday; the bridge's solar powered lights will be removed during the work.
Thornburg added that regrading of 105th Street and 110th Street is postponed until completion of the Highway 16 West pavement project, and crews plan to regrade the river road between Bonaparte and Farmington and shape ditches along Timber Avenue south of Bonaparte. He also noted that a blade operator from the Farmington district will attend training at Camp Dodge the week of August 4.
