Architect says LED strip lighting will be limited, on timer to limit nighttime impact

Architect told the board LED tape lighting will provide a soft sidewalk glow at the east façade and recommended using a daylight timer or midnight shutoff to reduce nighttime light; staff accepted the approach given adjacent all‑night commercial lighting.

Architect Zach Stevens said the project will use LED tape lighting tucked behind the drip edge at the juncture of metal panel and foundation to softly illuminate the sidewalk, not as an accent. He suggested a daylight timer with a possible midnight shutoff to reduce overnight light; staff noted surrounding lights from Costco and airport might make the strip lighting negligible but agreed a timer is appropriate.
