Board adopts multiple district policies including AI-use and attendance rules
The West Point Public Schools board voted July 13 to adopt a package of policies, including Staff Use of AI Tools (4065), Students Use of AI Tools (6038), Compulsory Attendance (5001) and Right to Access School Library Material (6046).

Trustee Eunice Ramirez moved to adopt the policies as presented on July 13; Trustee Holly Hunke seconded and the motion carried with all present voting yea (Herb Hasenkamp absent). The board approved a set of numbered policies that the agenda listed for adoption, including 2008 (Meetings), 3061 (ACH Originator), 4065 (Staff Use of AI Tools), 5001 (Compulsory Attendance and Excessive Absenteeism), 5035 (Student Discipline), 6009 (Grade Placement and Academic Credit of Transfer Students), 6038 (Students Use of AI Tools), and 6046 (Right to Access School Library Material).
