During the March 5 session, a member announced the presence of a gubernatorial appointee on the Senate floor, identifying her as Sarah Martz and stating she serves as chair of the Iowa Utilities Commission. "It's Sarah Martz behind me as chair of the Iowa Utilities Commission, and she will be here for at least 30 minutes after, we recess for any of you that wanna talk to her," the member told the chamber.
