Soil & Water Conservation District updates; board approves Feedlot Program annual report

Sara Gronfeld, District Administrative Manager for the Soil and Water Conservation District, provided program updates including work under the Wetland Conservation Act and information-gathering for the Local Government Road Wetland Replacement Program application. She also reported comprehensive watershed management updates for the Bois de Sioux-Mustinka and the Upper Minnesota River plans and said tree removal is pending favorable conditions.
Commissioner Mark Gail moved to approve the Feedlot Program Annual Report; Commissioner Kayla Schmidt seconded the motion and the board approved it unanimously. Gronfeld noted a Soil Health Workshop scheduled for March 18 at the Legion (10 a.m.–2 p.m.), and said state and federal soil-health grants and Ag Best Management Practice low-interest loans are available for 2026 projects.
