Commission approves updated Sheridan County emergency operations plan

Emergency Management Coordinator Jesse Lukhouse presented an updated Sheridan County Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) that outlines county roles and coordination among municipalities and partner agencies for preparedness, response and recovery. Lukhouse said the plan aligns with the National Incident Management System and National Response Framework and is a living document designed to maintain compliance with state and federal grant requirements.
Commissioners thanked staff for outreach and review work; the plan approval authorizes staff to share the updated plan with towns for their review and adoption so those jurisdictions may also remain eligible for grant funding tied to an up-to-date EOP. Lukhouse emphasized the plan does not change any agency’s legal duties but coordinates how agencies work together under existing authorities.
