Mapleton trustees review streets, spraying licensing, garbage pickup and tree trimming

Trustee Rodney Smith updated the board on Streets & Alleys business, saying street signs have been ordered and that he changed a back-door lock at Village Hall. He told the board Hollis Township requires a license to spray weeds and that he has contacted Eagle Lawn for pricing but will seek multiple bids before proceeding.
Smith also reported ongoing garbage-pickup issues under the GFL contract and discussed options for renegotiation; Treasurer Rhonda Hodges said the Village must pay under the signed contract and any change would require a new agreement. He said he would call AT&T about removal of trees cut along West First Street and follow up on tree trimming work.
