"Last year, we were awarded $500,000 through senate bill 22," the sheriff said, and staff said they would work with the auditor's office and county personnel to apply funds toward equipment and potentially salaries for the roughly 340 eligible personnel. The sheriff added the department filed a continuous operations report with the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) as required by recent legislation.
