The Town Supervisor (S1) said the town has arranged for a "Community Connections" event with representatives from New York State Electric and Gas (NYSEG) to give residents a chance to bring billing questions and review charges in person. The Supervisor said the event will be scheduled in September and that the town will post explanatory materials on its website and provide paperwork at the clerk's office for residents who cannot access materials online.
"It will be a mid to late afternoon, where you can come and you can discuss your billing issues. You can ask them the questions of why major increases have happened unexpectedly..." the Supervisor said, describing the planned format. The session is intended to help seniors and other residents who have experienced unexpected increases in electric bills and to explain available billing assistance programs.
