The Box Elder County Planning Commission on June 18 approved SP26-004, granting site-plan approval for Phase 2 of the Rocket Solar & Storage II project near Golden Spike Drive and Highway 89 in the Howell area, subject to staff comments and standard conditions. Commissioner Bonnie Robinson moved approval; Commissioner Jared Holmgren seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Staff noted the project previously received approvals but was delayed by supply-chain issues. The county engineer flagged a technical concern about whether electrical interconnection will be routed under or over the county road when linking to the highway; staff required the applicant to resolve that detail and comply with county code. Conditions of approval require compliance with staff comments, warning signage at the entrance and perimeter, and applicable county, state and federal laws.
