Commission corrects prior zoning map error with Ordinance 656

Box Elder County adopted Ordinance No. 656 on June 10 to repeal and re‑enact Ordinance No. 649 after staff identified a parcel that was mistakenly rezoned to the Agricultural Heritage Zone (AHZ).
Community Development Director Scott Lyons said the original rezoning was intended to implement AHZ designations south of Tremonton; one landowner had withdrawn their request but the parcel was nonetheless included. Commissioner Lee Perry moved to adopt Ordinance #656; Commissioner Boyd Bingham seconded and the motion carried 3–0.
The ordinance record describes the corrected parcel descriptions and restates findings that the rezoning is consistent with the county’s General Plan and will not adversely affect nearby properties. The County Clerk's records will reflect the corrected zoning map.
