Board affirms Materials Management Planning Committee, approves RSS contract for solid-waste plan
Kalkaska commissioners affirmed MMPC officers, adopted MMPC bylaws, approved an RSS contract for $9,612 to continue Materials Management Plan work, and set a $25 per-meeting per diem for MMPC members to be paid from the recycling budget and reimbursed by the state.

The Kalkaska County Board moved forward on materials-management planning at the Sept. 10 committee meeting, approving multiple motions to keep the Materials Management Plan (MMP) work on schedule. Commissioner David Comai moved to approve an RSS contract from Oct. 1 to Dec. 31, 2025 in the amount of $9,612; the motion was supported by Commissioner Scott Matley and approved by consensus.
