The board discussed Michigan Compiled Laws (MCL) 46.412, which governs vacancies in the office of county commissioner, and agreed on a schedule to fill the vacant seat. The board will accept applications through March 9, select candidates for interviews on March 10, and hold a special meeting March 17 for interviews, deliberation and appointment. Commissioner Gordon Kelley moved to approve the proposed appointment process; the motion carried.
