The Vernon County Board voted on a slate of routine and substantive resolutions. On voice votes the board passed resolution 2025‑53 (county long‑range plan for 2026–2028), resolution 2025‑54 setting supervisor compensation for the term beginning April 21, 2026, resolution 2025‑55 to amend the WIC budget (raising the program budget from $171,004.85 by $6,719.20 to $178,205), resolution 2025‑56 authorizing a 2026 WDNR stewardship grant application, and resolution 2025‑57 adopting the county forest annual work plan for 2026.
A late arrival, resolution 2025‑58, requested a general‑fund loan for Solid Waste to cover a catastrophic compactor engine rebuild. The board voted to suspend the rules to consider the late resolution, debated repayment language and approved an amendment requiring the loan be repaid from future department revenues or funds generated during liquidation of assets. The amended resolution passed. Several items were referred for committee follow‑up where additional detail or contract language was requested.
