Facilities Authority approves $404,000 upgrade to CCDC intercom and door controls

The Comanche County Facilities Authority voted unanimously March 30 to approve Digi Security Systems quote #020605, version #1, for upgrades to the intercom and electronic door-control system at the Comanche County Detention Center (CCDC). Vice-Chairman Ryan John moved the measure and Member Josh Powers seconded; the board recorded the cost as $404,000.00 and specified use of State Contract SW1048D with funding from the General Commissioners Contingency Fund.
The action follows the jail administrator’s operational report earlier in the meeting: Jail Administrator David Weber reported that as of March 27, 2026, CCDC had 223 inmates (166 males and 57 females), and staff transferred five inmates this week to the Oklahoma Department of Corrections. The board also approved a separate feasibility study (see related article) to examine long-term facility options for the detention center.
