Commission approves short extension for county security contract while RFP process continues
The County approved a final extension to Clarion Security LLC for guard services through Dec. 31 to allow time to complete a new RFP and vendor negotiations; Sheriff's Office said the original contract began in 2020 and this was the fourth extension.

The commission approved Item 9, a contract extension with Clarion Security LLC not to exceed $680,000 for guard services at county facilities through Dec. 31, 2024. Alicia Lindsey of the Shelby County Sheriff's Office explained this is the fourth and final extension to the original 2020 contract and said the department is negotiating with vendors that responded to a June 3 RFP; the department expects a new contract to be ready for commission consideration in December.
