During announcements at the May 28 meeting, Chair Bret Schardein reported the Fiscal Year 2027 budget did not include funding to hire an additional Department of Social Services Family Services Specialist to support local foster-parent recruitment efforts. Committee members flagged the unfilled role as a potential barrier to recruitment work.
The CPMT also noted the team continues to seek a Parent Representative to fill a vacant seat. Mr. Sakach asked about how an agency might designate an alternate to attend CPMT on behalf of a represented department; CPMT members confirmed an agency director can designate someone to act on their behalf for attendance and participation.
