The Page County Planning Commission spent the bulk of its May 12 meeting weighing a request by Shenandoah Speedway to expand event days and operating hours and to raise allowable sound levels. Neighbors packed the Board of Supervisors room to press the commission for enforceable limits and for either an updated noise study or clear mitigation measures such as walls and monitoring before any expansion is considered.
