Twisp council pauses Shorelines Master Program edits after Ecology feedback

Mayor Smith told the council that Ecology found the town's redlined Shorelines Master Program submission insufficient and asked the town to show how the redlines align with Twisp’s original 2012 plan. "Ecology has stated that the redline version we submitted is not adequate and that they need to appear in our original 2012 plan," Mayor Smith said.
Council Member Wyatt Lundquist said he preferred the version modeled on Omak but the Council agreed to wait for Mayor Smith to present a combined document before deciding next steps. The discussion centered on whether to hire outside consultants to rework the plan, who would pay for corrections, and how the final draft will be used when seeking future grant funding. No motion to adopt a revised plan was made at the meeting.
