Cowley County selects Kirkham Michael for preliminary engineering on Dexter Y SS4A application

Cowley County commissioners voted May 19 to select engineering firm Kirkham Michael to provide preliminary engineering services for the Dexter Y Project as part of preparations for a Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) grant application.
Public Works Superintendent Jon Jordan said Kirkham Michael "was the only firm to submit a statement of qualifications." Jordan added that "the services will only be used if we are approved for the grant." Vice Chairman Alan Groom moved to approve the selection and Commissioner Wayne Wilt seconded; the motion passed 3-0. The board did not authorize work beyond preliminary engineering pending a successful grant award and any future approvals.
