County signs MOU to continue Project SEARCH internship program for students with disabilities

The Lancaster County Board of Commissioners authorized participation in Project SEARCH through a Memorandum of Understanding with Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health. The program offers an immersion in the workplace and training opportunities for students with significant disabilities. The MOU covers academic year 2026–2027 and will automatically renew annually through the 2031–2032 academic year unless altered.
Commissioner Alice Yoder moved the MOU and Commissioner Ray D’Agostino seconded; both voted yes and Commissioner Parsons was absent. The minutes list the agreement under Behavioral Health/Developmental Services (BH/DS) as a county action to support employment training opportunities for people with significant disabilities.
