Commission approves 2025 longevity payout after split vote
Summary

Commissioner Duane Morris said the previous commission intended to award longevity for 2025 and that the current board should honor that intent; Commissioner Scott Mortimer said he would stand by that prior statement. Commissioner Carla Grund asked that the board go into executive session to discuss individual employees and expressed reservations. After discussion the board moved to "pay out the longevity bonus minus the Christmas bonus that was already paid out." The motion passed 2–1 (Aye — Commissioner Morris and Commissioner Mortimer; Nay — Commissioner Grund).
Clerk Tammi Cox said longevity had been built into the 2025 budget and that the mechanics for paying the bonuses would be handled as part of payroll. Commissioners did not change longevity policy for 2026 beyond noting general budget planning.
