The superintendent also recognized a student-led nonprofit that presented roughly $10,000 to Dayton Children's Hospital; the board praised the fundraising as an example of student initiative and community impact.
Board members and staff emphasized the role of sustained professional development in producing the student outcomes and said the district will continue to support project-based learning as part of its strategic plan.
