The director also reviewed capital projects including a brownfield breaking for a replacement facility (site 1) with multiple components and a projected completion by December 2030. Priority initiatives include radio replacement (procurement of approximately 2,600 radios), IT infrastructure upgrades and continued implementation of a jail management system. The department credited compliance with a settlement agreement (November 2024) and a consent decree (July 2025) for recent operational improvements.
