Commission selects KAC delegates and approves $80,208 Sheriff's imaging system

The Board selected delegates for the Kansas Association of Counties annual conference and approved a small procurement recommended by the county’s Board of Bids & Contracts during its Nov. 13 session.
On delegates, County Counselor Justin Wagner explained the nomination and voting process for the KAC legislative platform meeting Dec. 4. Commissioners nominated Commissioner Jim Howell as the county’s delegate, Commissioner Pete Meitzner as first alternate, and Chairman Ryan Beatty as second alternate, and authorized the County Clerk’s office to submit the names to KAC.
On procurement, Purchasing Director Lee Barry presented an item from the Board of Bids & Contracts recommending purchase of a full‑spectrum imaging system for the Sheriff’s Office for $80,208.98. The BOCC approved the recommendation by roll call.
Both actions were routine approvals recorded on the consent and regular business agenda.
