Committee approves CIC board structure changes, including two Council appointees and three resident members
Summary
The Committee voted to include two Council members appointed by the Council President, designate the Planning & Economic Development Coordinator as a non-voting member, allow three Mayor-appointed resident members subject to Council approval, and substitute Finance Director for Treasurer while creating a Recording Secretary role.
Committee members agreed on a governance structure for the proposed CIC, approving several amendments to the draft Ordinance to clarify board composition and officer roles. Law Director John Gasior reviewed the proposed Ordinance and recommended including both designated municipal officials and appointed residents on a seven-member voting board.
By roll call the Committee approved (3-0) a motion from Council Member Scott Radcliffe to include two members of Council appointed by the Council President and to designate the Planning and Economic Development Coordinator as a non-voting member. The Committee also approved (3-0) providing for three resident members appointed by the Mayor subject to Council approval and substituting the Finance Director for a Treasurer role while establishing a Recording Secretary position to maintain official records.
