Associate Superintendent of Business Services Aubrey Craig presented the South Whittier School District's Second Interim Report, outlining revenue and expenditure assumptions, restricted and unrestricted fund balances, multi-year projections and assumptions, and ending balance components. Craig stated that "these findings are a representation of the District's financial position as of January 31, 2025," and the presentation concluded with a positive certification of the financial report.
Trustee Francisco Santana asked Mr. Craig to describe how the California Price Index is updated and how frequently; Mr. Craig replied that projections vary but are usually updated quarterly and should be updated again before the May Revise. Trustee Santana also expressed concern about the index given "the current tariffs imposed by President Trump this week," a point recorded in the minutes that the Board discussed but did not modify during the meeting. The Board later approved the Second Interim Budget Report as part of Business Services items (motion recorded 5–0).
