Council reviews multiple compensation and classification ordinance updates
Summary
A set of ordinances (Nos. 27–33 and related items) would update pay ranges and reclassify several unclassified positions — project manager, grounds manager, assistant superintendents, and superintendent of utilities — to keep positions within proper salary ranges; Mayor Jensen said the changes are administrative and would not immediately raise current employees' wages.

A package of ordinances (Nos. 27–33 and related items) presented to Council would adjust compensation ranges and reclassify certain positions, including the part-time project manager, grounds manager, assistant superintendent roles, and superintendent of utilities. Mayor Bryan Jensen described the measures as administrative range corrections intended to keep positions within appropriate bands so future raises can be applied without additional ordinance amendments. He said these are adjustments to prepare for upcoming projects — notably the new Fire Station construction — and that the changes "will not result in wage increases for current employees but will establish appropriate ranges."
Council did not debate individual salary amounts during the work session. The Administration will return the ordinances for formal readings and any necessary committee review as they move through the ordinary legislative schedule.
