Administrator Dutton: compensation studies expected before budget process but no firm date

Administrator Dutton said he had reviewed the draft resolution and supported its direction while cautioning the committee not to tie the administration's hands on compensation before the administration completes its studies.
"I don't have a a precise date, or anticipated date at this point. My my hope and my expectation is we can get that wrapped up prior to our beginning really beginning the budget process," Dutton said, adding he did not anticipate significant salary increases but that any necessary adjustments could be incorporated into the budget.
Members acknowledged the need to await study results and agreed the committee's role is to make recommendations to the administration and commissioners rather than to set final compensation policy.
