Library director wins approval for security guard contract at Hanford branch

Ashley Newford, the new library director, asked the board to approve a retroactive agreement with Signal for Security Guard Services at the Hanford branch for the period 07/01/2026–06/30/2027. She said contractors will be paid $37 per hour and the contract not-to-exceed amount is $69,000; a library representative stated there is "no impact to the county general fund" because funding was included in the recommended fiscal year 2026–27 budget.
