Library announces sponsors, summer and Labor Day programs

Trustees heard that Arevia Power — Pantheon Solar Project will sponsor Tech Club (covering a database cost and $500 toward filament); Scales & Tails was requested for Aug. 8, 2026; Ely Elks Lodge offered space and interest in sponsoring a poetry contest; an application was filed for a Freedom Truck visit on Labor Day weekend.
Library Director Lori Romero outlined a slate of sponsorships and event requests for 2026, including corporate and community partnerships. "Arevia Power - Pantheon Solar Project will be sponsoring the Tech Club for the next year by paying the database cost and $500 towards filament," Romero said. She also reported an application to the Tourism & Recreation Board to bring Scales & Tails on Aug. 8, 2026, and that the Ely Elks Lodge has offered space and interest in sponsoring the annual poetry contest.
Romero added that an application has been submitted for a Freedom Truck to visit Ely on Labor Day weekend; the meeting minutes describe the Freedom Truck as "a traveling museum for the 250 Anniversary of the Country." Trustees did not take formal votes on these sponsorships at the meeting; Romero said Arevia representatives have been invited to visit the Tech Club and an article with a picture was planned for the local newspaper.
