City planners and a consultant presented a redesigned comprehensive plan and draft future land use map that emphasize urban reserves, potential UGB expansion, and continued focus on walkability and services; the Commission will review a full draft in October before DLCD review.

Anna Yost, the project lead for the comprehensive-plan update, opened the joint workshop with a summary of recent engagement and what staff see as the plan’s priorities. She said the work has been underway about "almost 2 years" and that public feedback from an in-person May open house and online surveys emphasized retail services, parks and walkability.
