Schools warn $2.1M local match required or programs could be cut

Miss Meyer said the $7 million figure is the program total (about $5 million state, $2 million local) and that the $2.1 million cited is the combined local required match; she warned that losing those funds would force cuts to pre-K, reading specialists, counselor support and other programs serving at-risk students. Supervisors asked how the county contribution is calculated and whether recent federal or state changes would affect anticipated funding streams; Miss Meyer and board members agreed to additional review and outreach to answer detailed line-item questions.
