Student ambassadors thank commissioners, say program opened doors for Black youth

Two student ambassadors described how Ohio Film Futures changed their outlook and skills.
"I wanna start off by saying thank you for your incredible investment in our company and in our futures," said Aubrey Carpenter, a senior at Bishop Hartley and a student ambassador. Carpenter said the program provided collaboration experience and practical filmmaking skills and noted that it has made it easier for Black youth to access the industry.
Gabriella (Gabby) Gresham, a senior at Eastmore Academy and also a student ambassador, thanked the commissioners' office for funding the program and said the experience gave her inspiration and confidence to create work locally. Both speakers urged continued investment in youth creative opportunities.
