Peekskill schedules Fleischmann Pier grand opening Oct. 13 as dredging study advances

Another member noted, "I think it's Sunday, October 13," when describing the planned grand-opening date.
The agency has issued an RFP for commercial boat operators and submitted a grant application to study dredging feasibility, which would assess the channel depths needed for larger excursion vessels and estimate disposal costs. Staff cautioned that sediment testing could significantly affect disposal expense — costs might range from hundreds of thousands to several million dollars depending on contamination results — and that the project will include additional sewer and electrical upgrades to support restroom and dock services.
