Finance panel OKs $8,318.11 budget amendment to fix boardroom video system

Connor reported that the boardroom experienced audio problems at the May meeting, presented vendor bids and recommended replacing a failed component. He said the committee took "the most advantageous bid" at a cost of $8,318.11 and asked the committee to approve a budget amendment to pay for the repair.
Members discussed where the funds should come from: staff noted the transfer will come from the county clerk's budget into the IT budget and that, even within the general fund, a budget amendment is required when moving money between departments. A motion to authorize the transfer and budget amendment (specifying movement from the clerk department to IT) was made, seconded and carried. Staff said an interim fix would be in place for the next board meeting and they hope the repair will be completed before July.
