Selectboard hears roadwork and speeding reports; Brookside Drive needs updated engineer estimate

Town Manager Rob Gaiotti briefed the Selectboard on ongoing highway work and speeding complaints. He reported partial paving on Morse Hill Road (with intersections to be done next week), grant-funded drainage work on McNamara, road grading and tree work. Staff also said they have met with Vermont Emergency Management about Brookside Drive and that the engineer must update construction plans and cost estimates before the road work can proceed.
On speeding complaints, staff reported citizen reports for Mad Tom Road, Dorset West Road, Route 30 and Danby Mountain. Staff noted that officers often spend an hour or two at complaint locations and typically observe 5–10 cars, most of which are not speeding; meetings with the Sheriff’s Department are underway to manage complaints.
