Mapleton board approves two-year extension with Area Disposal Service/GFL Environmental

The board approved a two-year extension of the village’s waste-collection agreement (originally dated Nov. 19, 2019 with Area Disposal Service, aka GFL Environmental Inc.); GFL's Eric Shangraw told the board Mapleton may accept the extension at the listed prices.
Eric Shangraw of GFL Environmental told the board that "the Village is one of the only customers that GFL Environmental has that has the option of an extension on their current contract. The Village still has the option to accept this extension at the listed prices since subscription prices have increased for all others." Following that presentation, trustees moved to accept a two-year extension of the Waste Collection Agreement dated Nov. 19, 2019.
Ben Hausam moved to accept the two-year extension and Rodney Smith seconded. The roll-call vote recorded the four trustees present voting yes; two trustees were absent. The extension was approved by the board and recorded in the meeting minutes.
