The ISD 2071 School Board on April 16 was told the district now projects a $100,000 surplus for 2025-26 after an unexpected $350,000 increase in special education funding and budget reductions totaling 2.5 full-time equivalents. Superintendent Benson reported the update during his financial briefing to the board.
Business Manager Wesley presented the warrants and cash activity; the board approved bills totaling $700,365.14 and wire transfers of $492,708.15 as part of the consent agenda. Benson also said the district is assessing hailstorm roof damage and awaiting an insurance review, and staff are reviewing co-op agreements after an activities cost analysis that showed per-participant expenses ranging from $500 to $1,268.
